La Jaira de Ana is a farm school located in Agüimes. It began as a family project in 2002, and in 2018 it took a new form as a dedicated space for environmental education, animal welfare, and the enhancement of the Canary Island’s primary sector. In a carefully designed natural environment, it offers people of all ages the opportunity to reconnect with nature and rural life through participative experiences focused on direct contact with animals in freedom and appreciation of local products.
The country estate provides services adapted to different audiences, such as school excursions with educational workshops, programmes for companies or groups, celebrations such as birthdays and weddings, as well as a children’s summer campus with rural and environmental activities. Some events can be highly customized, being able to specify aspects such as decoration, food, etc.
To complement these services, they offer experiential activities such as a tour of the farm, tastings of local products, milking and cheese-making workshops and even the chance to sponsor a jaira, as goats are known in the Canary Islands, encouraging learning through direct contact with nature.
La Jaira de Ana is firmly aligned with the Sustainable Development GOals and promotes a model of responsible tourism based on environmental education, local consumption, respect for biodiversity and cultural rootedness, each action within the project seeks to generate a positive impact on people and the surrounding environment.
