In 2004, the Gran Canaria Tourist Board (Turismo Gran Canaria) , the Federation of Hotel and Tourism Businessmen and women of Las Palmas (Federación de Empresarios de Hostelería y Turismo de Las Palmas) y Turismo de Las Palmas, with many other businessmen and women from the sector launched this ambitious project: Gran Canaria Natural & Active.
The purpose of this public and private initiative is to work together towards a joint marketing and promotion of the island of Gran Canaria as a nature destination, under the umbrella of a single organisation created to represent all the associated accommodation and activity companies.
Gran Canaria Natural & Active, an official brand of the Gran Canaria Tourist Board, gathers under the same brand which acts as a quality label, the island's wide range of nature tourism, including rural hotels, rural guest houses, holiday rentals, tourist activity companies, as well as other establishments linked to the island's cuisine, archaeology and culture, thus bringing together all the possibilities for exploring the most natural and authentic side of Gran Canaria through its wide range of accommodation and activities.
The association Gran Canaria Natural & Active organises, among others, the following promotional activities:
Organisation of the annual International Walking Festival in Gran Canaria ‘Gran Canaria Walking Festival’ (www.grancanariawalkingfestival.com).
Join the association if you want to grow your rural tourism services in Gran Canaria. Together, we will take your establishment to new levels of recognition and excellence.
